YMCA Childcare Relief Program
“The YMCA is honored to provide this service to help hospital teams and other essential workers provide critical community care without worrying about childcare. With a special waiver from the Governor and local city officials, the Greater Philadelphia YMCA is able to provide childcare for all hospital personnel and others deemed as essential workers so they can provide life-sustaining services.
To keep children, families, and staff safe, the Y has instituted enhanced safety measures including all staff/parents/children at each participating site to be screened by a nurse upon entering the facility.
Childcare services will be offered Monday through Friday, 6:00 am -6:00 pm for children 6 weeks-12 years of age (ages vary per location).
Children enrolled in the childcare service will receive access to a full curriculum including stem, art, and homework help to continue to provide the tools to grow and develop.
Enhanced security procedures are also in place to monitor anyone coming in and out of facility, constant nurse monitoring of staff and children’s health throughout the day, daily cleaning and sanitizing of all areas of facility, and no personal toys allowed on-site.
All children and staff will be practicing CDC and nurse-directed safety precautions. Children will be taught distancing and hand-washing practices in a fun, instructional manner.”
